Rookery, Kangaroo Island, isolated and pristine. Vineyard 35 deg 45 mins South. Warm 1500 heat degree days ( HDD ) Maritime. Cool Summers and warm Winters.
Soils - sandy loam over clay. Limestone parent material.

VINTAGE

The 2009 growing season conditions on Kangaroo Island were extremely tough and because of this we could only pick small amounts of selected fruit. This fruit was blended with the best of the Eden Valley Riesling.

TASTING NOTES

Aroma; Lime/citrus peel/ hints of orange peel and musk (as in the life saver lolly musk).
Palate; Ripe lemon flavours with confectionery sweet lolly flavours. Crisp, clean finish.
Assessment; A well made wine.
Serve; Good compliment for ham. Mildly spicy and sweet and sour dishes, or pork and veal.
