2013 Sparkling Blush


The 2013 season saw the beginning of a perfect season for ripening of the fruit at Rookery.

The weather then became hot for a period of time bringing the harvest forward with an earlier than usual ripening time.  The fruit was of good size and flavour.

Grape variety; 70% Sangiovese & 30% Chardonnay

Region; Kangaroo Island
Analysis; Alcohol 12.5 PH 3.25 T/A 7.5
Colour; Salmon with a touch of orange
Winemaking; Crushed & pressed as soon as possible.

Aroma; Delicate nose of red apple, roses, preserved lemons & a hint of spice.
Palate; Pleasantly light palate of strawberry, redskin & citrus notes following through.
Assessment; Finely textured and a structured acid profile.
Serve; Accompanied with Chicken Parmigiano
